This release brings the latest game source together with the new website design. Here’s what has changed since the earlier tactical update.
Recover equipment in the field
Nearby equipment now opens a pickup panel. Soldiers can select items for a 2 AP pickup, with slot, training and research restrictions shown before selection. Replaced equipment remains on the ground. Available ammunition and consumable uses travel with the recovered item.
Aim your overwatch
Shoot On Sight now enters a direction-selection mode. A visible 90-degree cone follows the aim point before the direction is confirmed, making the area being watched easier to judge.
See and hear the scanner
The personal scanner now produces an expanding pulse across surfaces and a sonar-style sound. Scanned vent contacts receive visible markers for the current turn.
A new tactical interface
The latest game build uses artwork-based action and status frames, with a selected-soldier readout, supplies and contact information. Non-editable interface text and images no longer get accidentally selected or dragged during play.
More detail in the station
Wall consoles and hydroponics lighting have been revised. Hydroponics machinery is packed more densely within the existing blocked areas, with service housings that make those obstacles easier to read.
Reactions and effects
Death animation blending and corpse grounding have changed, with equipment-drop visuals and recovered-item visibility. Explosions now combine fire and darker smoke particles, with revised sound effects.
A new home for both games
The website now uses the approved illustrated steel frames and button artwork, including separate mobile assets, a metallic title treatment and self-hosted sci-fi typography. The browser game, free tabletop test kit, developer blog and optional support remain together on one site.
Keep the playtest feedback coming.
The tabletop download remains a prototype test kit. The finished base board game is planned as a free download, with paid expansions later. Support is optional; the game and free downloads never require payment.
These notes summarise the source changes in the field-equipment systems, scanner-pulse, tactical-dock, three-view, lab-terrain, character animation and station lighting modules. Whole-campaign regression testing is still ongoing.
